Begonia Cracklin Rosie
Begonia Cracklin Rosie, named after Neil Diamond's song "Cracklin' Rosie," is an upright cane-like begonia with a striking appearance. This cultivar exhibits vibrant and dynamic foliage, characterized by large leaves transitioning from a bronze hue when young to a dark green as they mature. The leaves are speckled with numerous silver dots, adding an extra layer of visual interest. Notably, the underside of each leaf is a vivid red, which becomes more apparent due to the leaves' natural curl. While 'Cracklin Rosie' blooms infrequently, its pink flowers make a spectacular show in large clusters when they do appear. This hybrid, developed by Walter Dworkin, is a cross between B. ‘Silvermist’ and B. ‘Salmon Rubra’, combining the best traits of both parents into a stunning ornamental plant.
